2008 Season
Thank
you once again for being a big part of our racing team in the 2008 racing season, this year has been our best season on the
track yet, we could not have made these accomplishments without your great support to our program.
2008
had our focus on winning the Colorado National Speedway Championship in the Legends division.
With forty Eight competitors in what has become the largest and most competitive class at CNS we had our work cut out
for us. Our goal for the season was to run up front and finish every race we
entered, while competing at a standard that we have become accustomed to in years past.
This year we took eleven feature green flags at CNS, winning the Master division in nine out of the eleven, followed
up with a second and a third, ending up as the first place Master at CNS. The
overall season statistics had an average car count per race at twenty eight, with our team ending the season 2nd in points
out of a field of forty-eight cars! Five top three’s, 5 top five’s and a seventh, seventh being our worst finish of the year, sixty six points out of first place, the best second place
points total in our series since its inception twelve years ago. To top off a
great season we were awarded with the “Colorado National Speedway Sportsman of the Year” award being voted on
by our peers in our Legend series.
Legends
Nationals were held in Elko Minnesota in early October, we made the trek up north to see how we faired in the national
scope. With a field of over forty five drivers, some of the best from all over
the USA, Canada and
the UK.
We started the weekend out qualifying twenty first just missing the feature by one position, which meant we would need
to race our way in to the main event. Starting on the pole for the B main, we
held the lead from green to checkered in the twenty five lap heat race insuring our spot in the main while securing our first
national trophy with a win. The fifty lap feature had us starting twenty first
in the field of thirty of the fastest cars in the nation to take the green flag. The
main event was well worth the miles we drove to get there and by the time the checker flew we had passed fifteen cars
to finish sixth in the nation, our best national finish to date. It has been
a great season finishing every race we entered and always challenging for the win, the crew prepared a problem free car to
drive for the entire season without even a hiccup. Myself and my crew chief Dan
Spoelma would like to thank you for everything, FlyHigh Racing looks forward to your continued support as we look to continue
our pace into the 2009 season.
Respectfully
Jon Krizman & FlyHigh Racing
